Whilst visiting a car boot sale in Cardiff, Paul tripped and fell on some cardboard on the floor. The cardboard had a plank of wood underneath, which he hadn't seen, and this caused the edge to be raised. Paul was taken to hospital with soft tissue injuries to his left shoulder, knee and ankle, and a slipped disc.
The car boot's public liability insurers put forward an offer to settle, which we advised our client to reject as it was below the level that a Court would award. Following rejection of our counter offer we issued proceedings. After further negotiations the claim settled for £1,755 without the need to attend Court.
