Supermarket delivery driver causes accident Sharon was a passenger in her husband's car, when a supermarket delivery van sped around the corner. The van's side door was open and the trays of customer's shopping flew out of the door colliding with the car, causing Sharon's husband to turn and brake sharply. In the accident, Sharon suffered pain and soft tissue injury to her lower back and required subsequent physiotherapy. She had not had any pre-existing problems with her lower back. The supermarket's insurers admitted liability and after obtaining medical evidence, the claim settled for £4,000.
