Hairdresser receives £110,299 compensation for accident at work Whilst working in a hair salon, Teresa tripped over a vacuum cleaner that had been left in a doorway by a colleague and broke her left arm in the fall. She required surgery and extensive physiotherapy followed by a long period of recovery. Unfortunately the injury left her with residual pain and stiffness in her left shoulder and a weakness in her left arm which restricted her physical activity. She was absent from work for a year due to the injury and when she did return, she was made redundant shortly thereafter as she was unable to perform her duties at work due to her injury. Her former employer's insurers initially denied liability. Court proceedings had to be issued and liability was eventually agreed. We obtained medical evidence and following negotiations the claim was settled before Trial for a total of £110,299.
