Accident caused by unsafe working practices Our client, Steven, works in a produce factory. The produce had been sprayed with water ready for packing so the surrounding areas were wet. He was carrying a heavy tray of potatoes whilst he went up a flight of metal steps as part of his job. As he climbed up he slipped on the stairs, which were wet, causing him to drop the tray and suffer a twisting injury to his lower back. Following the accident, Steven’s employer had black grip edges installed on the metal stairs. Our client continued to suffer from back pain which radiated down his left leg many months after the accident, and then started to suffer from right leg pain due to weight transference. He underwent follow up treatment on his lower back at a chronic pain clinic. We served Proceedings to protect our client’s interests, however, the claim went on to settle out of Court in our client’s favour. See our full list of 'Accidents at Work' services.
